Liver and Organ Meat Brownies Recipe PDF
Eating animal fats and organ meats has completely changed my life over the past 5 years. As a recovering vegan/vegetarian, my gut, physical and emotional health has improved ten fold since incorporating these nutrient dense, ancient superfoods into my diet.
I have always struggled with the taste of organ meats & liver, although know they are essential to being a nourished woman in this day and age. Some of my friends have no problem with the taste but after trying liver pills, frozen liver, liver and onions liver into ground beef, etc. I struggled to find a way to eat liver regularly without compromising the nutritional benefits. I have heard that the liver pills significantly decrease the amount of nutritional bioavailability.
Enter: LIVER BROWNIES! I wanted to find a way to get liver into a sweet because I have a sweet tooth, while also having a gluten free and low glycemic recipe. I created a gluten free, "refined" sugar free brownie recipe that includes organ meats & liver and I hope you enjoy.
This recipe for brownies is more of a cake; as in, the brownies are quite moist. If you'd like a thicker and not as goo-ey brownie, you can experiment with cooking it at a lower temperature for longer and adding more flour. Play around with it! I also included a page describing the health benefits of organ meats and liver so you can paste it up on your fridge or in your recipe book and keep making those brownies!
Once you get the secret sauce, you can add this to any baked good recipe. So far the chocolate flavor has masked the taste of the liver but you can play around with adding it into other baked goods. Enjoy!
