Singing From My Body, Singing From My Soul

Join me for this 8-week container, beginning Sunday, March 22nd.

We will gather Online via Zoom every Sunday, from 9-11am PST for 8 weeks.

All Sessions are recorded.

You can think of our time together every Sunday morning as Sunday Morning “Earth Church” but Singing, Songwriting & Somatics style! 😎

As a community, we will learn singing as it relates to nervous system wellness & polyvagal theory, learn over 45 new songs, learn the basics of Somatic Experiencing, and write many songs!

Every student will walk away from the container with at least four songs they have written, and with one song they can sing in their ancestral language.

You can follow me on instagram to learn more about the course or schedule a free call with me to learn if this group is a right fit for you.

The course dates for our Spring 2026 cohort are listed below,

Sundays from 9-11am PST:

What you’ll learn

  • Each human nervous system is different and there is no ‘fix all’ for our individual healing processes. However, learning how to track your nervous system and support it through the many challenges of life is a gift that keeps on giving. Throughout this container, we will learn the basic principles of Somatic Experiencing and how to take care of our bodies in an often overwhelming world.

  • Many of us are disconnected both from our homelands and our Ancestral Languages. Learning to sing one song (or two, or three!) in your Original Language throughout our time together is a beautiful, rich journey into the musical world of your ancestors. We will also do lots of songwriting during our time together, giving lots of space and time in class to write your original songs.

  • The most important intention I had in creating this container was providing a community space for people to relate, share, connect to their bodies and sing. Of course we are grateful to learn theory, practices and information, but there is nothing quite as magical as sharing our time, space and songs with each other. We will focus largely on the Ventral Vagal Complex of the Nervous System in this course- our social engagement system- as a pathway for healing. My hope is that this inspires you to go out into your own communities and get singing together.

  • Throughout our time together, you will build and organize a songbook (or XL keyring like Lindsey Scott does!) of the songs you’ve written in the past, songs you’ve written during the course and the 40+ songs we’ll learn together in the container. You can bring this songbook with you to gatherings, around the campfire, to the dinner table, to sing to a stranger on the street…so on and so forth. A goal we will work on together is getting you sharing your songs with your family or community regularly! My personal goal is that you ALWAYS have a song to sing!

  • Somatic Experiencing is a modality (developed by Peter Levine) that recognizes that symptoms of trauma result from the nervous system becoming overwhelmed. Somatic Experiencing works to restore balance and homeostasis in the human body. After completing my SE training, I became super interested in how Singing (especially community singing!) positively impacts our nervous systems. More singing together = more health. Together, we’ll learn why.

  • I am passionate about songwriting being a place every person can “go to” to move through a difficult emotion. I know that everyone is a singer, and everyone is a songwriter. We will learn songwriting as an emotional healing tool, from a somatic perspective. By the end of our time together, everyone will feel comfortable writing songs as a way to move through the stressors of modern life.

SARAH KNAPP, SEP

Sarah Knapp (SEP) is the facilitator of this course, teaching 8 sessions. Together, we will hangout on Zoom every Sunday morning from 9-11am PST for the first 2 months of Spring: singing, songwriting and learning Somatic Practices to cultivate more resilience in these modern times of overwhelm. We will learn how to “sing our way through life” and we will do that together.

Course FAQ

  • We begin on Sunday, March 22nd and will be together for 8 sessions, from 9-11am PST on Zoom. All sessions will be recorded and you will have access to the recordings for the duration of the course. Our closing session will be Sunday, May 10th.

  • The cost of the course is $247. A 2-month payment plan of $123.50 is also available above! There are no refunds or cohort transfers available.

  • Each Sunday morning for 2 hours, we will gather as a community on Zoom to learn somatics, to sing and to write songs. Each student will have lots of creative time in class, as well as suggested homework assignments outside of class. (These are minimal, don’t worry.)

For the 2 months we are together, we are a singing village: gathering on Sunday mornings to sing and “be in our bodies together” as my colleague Marissa Correia says.
