Somatic Experiencing® is a body-based trauma resolution modality. Rather than relying solely on the mind’s understanding & analytical thinking to solve our problems (top-down approach), Somatic Experiencing® is a bottom-up approach; allowing the body & nervous system to guide our healing process.
Together, we resolve residual trauma in the body by trusting & following the body. We lean into goodness, coherence and pleasure along the way to support this process of trauma-healing.
In session, we create contained, safe & gentle space for the body to discharge traumatic stress. By remembering & permissioning our animal instincts, we (slowly and over time), liberate the body from these stuck memories, sensations and responses of the past.
Somatic Experiencing is a slow & steady approach that allows the nervous system to build capacity for resilience, safety, flexibility and feeling good.
